Nobodys Heroes
Belleville, MI (1998-2000)
Ryan McTaggert - Vocals Christmas Break, 1998 — Ryan McTaggert (vocals), Ryan Hampton (drums) and Brian Borguno (bass) formed Nobody's Heroes, practicing together as a three piece in the living room of Brian's parents trailer. Soon after, Jason Craiger (formerly of the Ypsilanti metal band, Friction) joined as lead guitar. During this period, the band wrote Redline, Christian Values, and Emo Love Song. All but one of which never saw the light of a legitimate recording. read more
With the holiday came the addition of yet another member, Andy Lukofsky, on guitar. Andy seemed like a natural fit, as he and Ryan McTaggert had played in bands together in the past. With the band as a 5-piece, a new song was written (Addiction) and there were more (Another Cigarette) in the works. It was during this time that original guitarist, Jason Craiger, had quit the band leaving Andy as lead guitarist. As time went on the band was forced to relocate from the trailer park, but with this minor speed bump came the bands first show at a local VFW hall. The performance was well received and the band was invited to play at the, now defunct, Hippy House. This show didn't go over quite so well. Playing outside in the conditions were cold, and the performance was sub-par until the show was moved indoors for the remaining patrons (who were mainly residents of the house). A few days after that show Brian was let go and Andy filled in as bass player with the addition of Don Tate (formerly of the Belleville band, Page Ten) on guitar. Things were beginning to come together, new songs were being written and more shows were played. Playing live on the air at a local radio station, the Ypsilanti Spring Jam and taking third in a local Battle of the Bands competition. It was this competition where the band met up with new friends Orange Kake and Lied My Way. On July 4th of 1999 the band recorded it's first demo, Superman's Dead, and Don left the band for a brief stint signaling the return of Jason Craiger on guitar. However, in a few weeks when Don returned, Jason decided to quit again rather than fill in as second guitar. It was around this time that the band began to spark the interest of record label Realm of Freaks Records. Where they recorded their full length CD, Eatters of the Weak. Soon after the albums December 11th release, Don once again left the band. Will Armstrong (formerly of local hardcore band Next2Nothing) joined on as the bands guitarist for three shows before departing. Then long-time fan, Aaron, took over as guitarist for a bit before the bands final demise. |
